Peter's Testimony
II Peter 1:12-21 paraphrase
Daily Psalm: Psalms 15:1,2 A Psalm of David. LORD, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill? He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his heart.
Daily Devotional: I will not be negligent to put you in remembrance of these things, though you know them, and established in the present truth.
I think it is important, as long as I am in this tabernacle, (human body) to stir you up by putting you in remembrance; Knowing that shortly I must put off this tabernacle, (must die) even as our Lord Jesus Christ has showed me.
Moreover I will endeavour that you may be able after my death to have these things always in rememberance. For we have not followed cunningly devised fables, when we told you of the power and comming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of his majesty.
He recieved from God honor and glory, when he spoke from heaven with a voice saying: This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Which we heard when we were with him in the Holy mount.
We have also a more sure word of prophecy; Where you do well that you take heed, as unto a light that shines in a dark place, until the dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:
Knowing first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.
For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: But holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.
Daily Proverb: Proverbs 24:12 If thou sayest, Behold, we knew it not; doth not he that pondereth the heart consider it? and he that keepeth thy soul, doth not he know it? and shall not he render to every man according to his works?
