Hebrews 11:1-12 paraphrase


Daily Psalm: Psalms 46:10 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.


Daily Devotional: Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. For by it the elders obtained a good report.

Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.

By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead still speaks. ( his faith in the blood atonement still preaches to men today)

By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: his testimony was that he pleased God.

Without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that comes to God must believe that he is and that he is a rewarder of them that dilligently seek him.

By faith Noah being warned by God of things not seen as yet,(it had never rained) prepared an ark, and saved his family; and became heir of righteousness which is by faith.

By faith Abraham, when he was called out, to the land of promise that God would give him for an inheritance, obeyed; not knowing where he went. Living in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, heirs with him of the same promise: For he looked for a city whose maker and builder was God.

By faith Sara, even though she was old concieved, and dilivered a son because she judged him (God) faithful who had promised.


Who became a nation of so many as the stars of the sky and the sand of the sea," inumerable."
