Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.

And the world will pass away, and the lust thereof:

But he that does the will of God abideth for ever....

We do know that we do know him, if we keep his commandments.

He that says, I know him, and doesn't keep his commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

But those who keeps his word, in him is the love of God perfected:

Daily Devotional: That which was (Jesus Christ) from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands handled, of the word of life;

(For the life was manifested, and we have seen it (Jesus Christ) and show unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us;)

That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that you also may have fellowship with us: And truly our fellowship is with the Father, and his Son Jesus Christ.

These things we write unto you, that your joy may be full.

This is the message we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.

If we say we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie,(decieve our selves) and do not the live the truth:

In which are some things hard to understand, which those that are unlearned (in the scriptures or ways of God) and unstable wrest(dwell or ponder) as they do other scriptures, unto their own destruction.

Beloved, seeing you know these things, beware lest you also, being led away with the error of the wicked, (those who twists the word of God to fit their lusts) fall from your own steadfastness.

That you are mindful of the words which were spoken by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us the apostoles of the Lord and Savior: (here Peter classes the writings of the apostles as equal to the holy prophets)

Daily Devotional: For if God, didn't spare the angels that sinned, but cast them down into hell, and into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment;

And didn't spare the old world, but saved Noah, a preacher of righteousness, bringing the flood upon the world of the ungodly;

And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah into ashes condemned them, making them an example for those who would follow after that would choose to live ungodly; and delivered Lot....

The Lord knows how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and reserve the unjust till the day of judgment to be punished:

Mainly those that walk after the flesh in the lusts of uncleanness, despises governments. Presumptuous (bold, daring headstrong and reckless,) selfwilled, are not afraid to speak evil of dignities. Even the angels are smarter than that....

Having eyes full of adultery, and cannot cease from sin; beguiling unstable souls: (seducing the innocent) and are gone astray....

To whom the mist of darkness is reserved forever!!

Daily Devotional: Remember there were false prophets among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privately (secretly) shall bring in damnable heresies, (false teachings) even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring themselves swift destruction.

And many shall follow their pernicious ways; (lusts of the flesh) by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of.

And through covetousness shall they with feigned words (false theories) make merchandise of you: whose judgment for a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not.(their damnation is sure)

Be careful of who you listen to, and weigh the words spoken.

Pray for God to keep your soul in the palm of his hands,

Where there is security in this present world.

Daily Devotional: I will not be negligent to put you in remembrance of these things, though you know them, and established in the present truth.

I think it is important, as long as I am in this tabernacle, (human body) to stir you up by putting you in remembrance; Knowing that shortly I must put off this tabernacle, (must die) even as our Lord Jesus Christ has showed me.

Moreover I will endeavour that you may be able after my death to have these things always in rememberance. For we have not followed cunningly devised fables, when we told you of the power and comming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of his majesty.

He recieved from God honor and glory, when he spoke from heaven with a voice saying: This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Which we heard when we were with him in the Holy mount.

We have also a more sure word of prophecy; Where you do well that you take heed, as unto a light that shines in a dark place, until the dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:

Knowing first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.

For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: But holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.

Daily Devotional: Finally, be all of one mind, having compassion for one another, love as brethren, be tenderhearted, be courtous:

Not giving evil for evil, or fighting for fighting; knowing that you are called, that you should inherit a blessing.

For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain from speaking evil, let him shun evil, and do good; let him seek peace.

For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open to their prayers: But the face of the Lord is aganist them that do evil.

Who is he that will harm you, if you are followers of that which is good?

But and if you suffer for righteousness' sake, happy are you: and don't be afraid of their terror, neither be troubled:

But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and allways be ready to give an answer to those who asks of you a reason of the hope that is in you with meakness and fear:

Having a good conscience; even though they speak evil of you, that they may be ashamed that falsely accuse your good conversation in Christ.

Daily Devotional: Likewise you wives, be in subjection (obey) to your husbands; that, if any obey not the word,(unsaved) they also may without the word be won by observing you;

As they see your chaste conversation coupled with fear.(watching what you say) Whose adorning don't let it be the outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing gold, or puting on of apparel;

But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price....(valuable).

Even Sara obeyed Abraham, calling him lord: whose daughters your are, as long as you do well, and are not afraid with any amazement. (no infidelities)

Here it shows the outward adorning is of no value to God compared to the meek and quiet spirit,

Where one is temporary; and the other is eternal.

Daily Psalm: Psalms 39:1 I said, I will take heed to my ways, that I sin not with my tongue: I will keep my mouth with a bridle, while the wicked is before me.

Daily Devotional: The body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also. My brethren be not many masters (teachers) knowing that we shall recieve the greater condemnation.

For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle (control) the whole body.

We put bits in the horses' mouths, so they will obey us; and we turn about their whole body. Also the ships, even though they are great, and driven by fierce winds, yet they are turned about with a very small helm, where ever the governor moves it.

Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth! the tounge is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue a little fire that kindleth!

Even though the tounge is small among our members, yet it defileth the whole body, and sets on fire the course of nature and it is set on fire of hell. Every kind of beast and nature has been tammed by man.

But the tongue no man can tame; it is unruly evil, full of deadly poison. Out of the same mouth comes blessings and cursing. These things should not happen.

Does a fountain send forth at the same place sweet water and bitter? Can the fig tree give olivies? Or a vine give figs?

Be careful what you say...

And these all, having obtained a good report through faith, recieved not the promise: God having provided a better thing for us, that they without us should not be made perfect.

Without faith it is imposible to please God.

Daily Devotional: Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. For by it the elders obtained a good report.

Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.

By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead still speaks. ( his faith in the blood atonement still preaches to men today)

By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: his testimony was that he pleased God.

Without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that comes to God must believe that he is and that he is a rewarder of them that dilligently seek him.

Daily Devotional: For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices that they offered year by year continually make the comers perfect.

For then would they not have ceased to be offered?

Because that the worshippers once purged should have had no more conscience of sins. But in those sacrifices there is remembrance again made of sins every year.

For it is not posible that the blood of bulls and goats should take away sins. When he comes into the world, he says, sacrifice and offering you would not, but a body hath you prepared me:

In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin you have had no pleasure. Then I said, Lo, I come to do your will, O God....

He took away the first (O.T. Law) that he may establish the second.

Paul has mentioned Christ as our high priest before, but goes into greater details here.

For we don't have a high priest that cannot be touched (sympathize or understands) with the feeling of our infirmities; (feebleness of mind and body, fraility, desease, sickness, and weakness) but was in all points tempted like we are, yet without sin.

Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

Jesus is our example to live by, or attain to. So when we are tempted,

Paul admonishes us to stay away from such and stay pure and true to God.

A widow is one who has no decendents, children or relatives, inwhich to support her, if she does, it is their responsiblity to manifest their religion by caring for her. Thus repaying her for bringing them up.

For this is acceptable before God. Now she that is a widow indeed, and desolate, trusteth in God, and continues in supplications and prayers day and night.

But she that liveth in pleasure is dead while she lives. (to live riotously or wantonly) These things you command, that they be blameless...

Don't let a widow be taken incharge under three score years old, and having been the wife of one man.

Well reported of for good works If she has brought up children, if she has lodged strangers, if she has washed the saints feet, if she has helped the sick, if she diligently done every good work.

But younger widows refuse: for when they begin to behave insolently toward God, and remary. So the younger women should mary and have children, to keep them from being a gossip and a busy body with lots of idle time on their hands.

A charge to the widows to live above reproach,

and God shall supply their needs.

Daily Devotional: As the body is one, and has many members, and all the members are of one body, even many members are still one body: so also is Christ.

For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, wether we are Jews or Gentiles, wether we are bound or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.

For the body (of Christ) is not one member, but many. If the foot shall say, because I am not the hand, I am not of the same body; is it not of the same body? And if the ear say, I am not the eye, so I am not of the body? Is it not of the same body?

If the whole body was an eye, How would it hear? If it was all hearing, how would it smell? Hasn't God set the members everyone of them in the body, as it has pleased him? And now they are many members, yet only one body.

The eye can't say to the hand, I have no need of you: Nor the head to the feet, I have no need of you. Even the feeble parts are very necessary... If one member suffer, all the members suffer with it. If one rejoice, they all rejoice.

Now you are in the body of Christ, members in particular. God has set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tounges.

Are all Apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? are all workers of miracles? Have all the gifts of healing? Do all speak with tounges? Do all interpret?

But covet earnestly the best gifts....

Daily Devotional: Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have you ignorant. You know you were Gentiles, carried away by dumb idols as you were led.

No man speaking by the Spirit of God calls Jesus accursed: that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, lest by the Holy Ghost. There are diversities of gifts, but all are of the same spirit.

There are differences of administrations, but the same Lord. There are diversities of operations, but still the same God which works in us all. But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to everyman to profit withall.

For one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; and to another the word of knowledge by the same spirit; another faith, another gifts of healing, to another the working of miracles; to another discerning of spirits, another divers kinds of tounges, to another the interpretations of tounges. All are given from one Spirit. All these works from one and the same Spirit, dividing to everyman severally as he will.
